The programme of the international conference on the challenges and changes dance is facing in the future. BEYOND ballet why and how, the international conference on dance and dance education took place from April 16th to April 18th in Arnhem, The Netherlands. The conference continued where the 2012 conference: BALLET: Why & How? left off. Again ArtEZ School of Dance and Balettakademien Stockholm join forces to offer perspectives on dance and dance education in a broader social context. In addition, education and professionals partnered by sharing viewpoints and insights, in order to take solid steps towards building the dance educators and professionals of the future. Adrienne Stevens of Performing Health discussed Dance Nutrition, Body Awareness, and Body Image.

The Steps Conservatory Program is specifically designed for the dancer preparing for a professional career in either the concert or commercial dance world. This program offers intermediate and advanced dancers, ages 17-26, a two-year curriculum based intensive program designed to strengthen technique and artistry, through study and performance, while providing an introduction to NYC’s professional dance community. Performing Health was on hand providing a curricula to dancers about what and how to eat, to maximize energy and prevent injury.
